Its obvious that the Nigerian medias especially print medias have being compromised. One can no longer get a fair, balanced, accurate & well verified reports again from most of our media outlets. A particular desperate & do or die opposition party politicians, have hijacked & taken over most of the national & mainstream medias. We now have hungry & biased journalists that dish out lies & unverified reports cuz they are doing the bidding of their pay masters. Mainstream medias like Punch,The Nation,Tribune Newspapers etc & Channels Tv,now depends on faceless & address-less online Sahara Lieporters & Premium Times for their reportage. I have never seen where a mainstream media relies on ashawo online medias for its reportage w/out proper verification of their reports 1st,but im seeing it now..... Junk & gutter journalism. It is worrisome to me,knowing fully well that, the media has the power to control & influence the psyche of the populace/masses & the worst is that Nigerians are gullible readers, believing every trash they read, hook, line & sinker w/out verification/proof or even asking certain questions. What else or true & fair reports & analysis can i expect, when Ibikunle Amosun (Ogun State gov.) is sponsoring Channels Tv with 480million & Fashola budgeted 400million for media propaganda alone, so also all APC governors. Yeah, they may be smart politicians by taking a fast political move & the journalists might as well be smiling uncontrollably to the banks, but true & fair journalism will die a natural death......while junk & cash n carry journalism will take over.
