Its official. As of today, I have a four year old daughter. Wow, does that phrase feel funny to say- four year old daughter. Four year old daughter. ... I think this will take a little getting use to. The problem with having a four year old daughter is that I still remember her birth as though it happened yesterday. It doesnt feel right to think that four whole years have passed, that my little tiny bundle of joy in my arms now runs around all by herself. But she has... my baby has become a little more big. Kiaras fourth birthday had been a much anticipated event in our home. She is finally at the age where she understands the excitement of birthdays and she had been looking forward to her birthday for months. We had a full day of fourth birthday fun planned last Saturday the princess had her very own Frozen Themed party. While I find it strange that I am old enough to have a four year old daughter, it also feels strange to remember that I ever had a life before her. Kiara is my side kick, my best buddy, and we have so much fun together. She has become such a little character, with an identity & so much personality. She tells me jokes and asks me how my day is going. She wants to know why I feel sad and how she can help me be happy. She helps to care for her loved ones and tries to pitch in around the house. That little girl absolutely makes my world go round. She keeps me young with rousing games & the disney movies. She keeps me sharp with her talks & stories. She makes me laugh with her singing &dancing. She melts my heart when she tells me that she wants to be just like me. While it can be hard to accept the fact that Kiara is no longer my baby, and has instead grown into my four year old daughter, I have to say that I am loving it. Each day she surprises me with the things she knows. She makes life interesting and fun and she definitely keeps me on my toes. I am excited to celebrate her fourth birthday today. Happy Birthday Kiara! You light up my life!
