Its one of the more curious aspects of the human experience that someone youve never known personally can have such a lasting impact on your life. With this in mind, I was sorry to hear earlier of the death of Arthur Montford. Definitely one of the voices of my childhood. Oh how his would-be successors could learn a thing or two from him, with their polished soundbites and trite Americanisms.
