Its one thing to drive up Pikes Peak Highway. From the gate at 7,400 ft to the brake check at 11,500 ft is mostly covered by trees on either side of the road. Once you begin the ascent from the brake check to the summit (can be seen at the 4:13 minute mark in the video and on), most upright plants cannot grow. The road soon becomes a rock wall on one side and cliff. After having driven this road a bunch of times, I have a whole new appreciation for this video and how insanely talented the drivers racing Pikes truly are. https://youtube/watch?v=Y20CLumT2Sg
