Its possible Robert Rodriguez and Frank Miller and the digital cowboys at Troublemaker Films in Austin went to the SIN CITY hoedown one time too many. Really Im suggesting SC2 was lacking some of the soul of the first installment, but A DAME TO KILL FOR is still worth the trip to the bunker. Mickey Rourke is SO good, visually and physically, his hulking mass owns the tone of this bleak graphic noir film. The cast is satisfying at every turn, and almost no one survived the bloody ballet. Bullets and blades and cool cars and white chocolate gore are the trademark tools of the desperate denizens of Austin, and I loved it all. Even Bruce Willis couldnt stay away…drop dead cameos and Lady Gaga. Theres plenty of POP party favors. In the digital universe the list of technical credits is nearly as long as the script, but thats what it takes to wrestle the alligators. Its two glorious hours of MILLER TIME.
