Its really hard seeing your grandfather slowly forgetting things. Forgetting people. Forgetting places. My mom and I were eating at my grandparentss house, and he kept saying he had to leave. He said he liked it there, but that he wanted to be back home with the same people as usual. Thats us. He seemed to think he was in some sort of hotel, and that he needed to tell the staff when they left. My grandparents on my moms side are the two people Ive always been the closest to. Its even more difficult considering that the same happen to my grandmother on my dads side. She cant remember anybody now, much less talk or walk or eat on her own. Its really sad. When I visit my grandma, I just cant help but wonder why. Its not living. And nobody deserves that. I know its simply a part of life, but its a part that just sucks.
