Its review time! pk. aamir khan and only aamir khan is what you take back from the film. Pk is a satirical rendezvous based on societys interpretation of religion and god and questions heavily on the existence of all the priests and religious enthusiasts who in the name of god or religion loot people and often than not lure people into paying money to reach closer to god. Aamir khan as the alien from another planet lands on deserted rajasthan , Learns bhojpuri and befriends anouska sharma (jaggu) . However as soon as he lands on earth a person steals the gadget with which he could go back to his own planet. Thus his hunt starts for this and in the process everyone tells him to ask god where it is and his search begins. anushka sharma as the reporter who tries to make a mark in her career befriends pk and arranges an interview of his and the great priest played brilliantly by saurabh shukla. Sushant singh rajput has a small role as anushkas love interest. The film is a laugh riot and a slapstick yardstick on the existence of god and religion. Aamir khan has definitely finally got back his charm after the last two hopeless dhoom3 and talaash! The other characters include boman irani , Sanjay dutt who plays aamirs friend helping him track down his gadget thief and a one scene appearance by ranbir kapoor at the end credits. the screenplay is worth writing about as the comedy never quite runs out and despite being a long film youre never quite bored. The plot and music is typical of a raju film laced with feel good vibe and a teary climax. the entire journey of pks eccentricity and societys flawed practices and malpractices is what pk questions. Anushka sharma is amazingly natural and charming and holds strong ground beside aamir. The costume designer must be worth a mention for letting us relive delhi and rajasthan in these three odd hours. however pk has a heavy hangover of oh my god (the film starring paresh rawal) and thus never quite manages to offer anything new In terms of its message or sardonic take on religion and god. It is not rajus best work surely for he was far better in 3idiots and munnabhai. This becomes a big problem for the film. Youre glued to the film almost enough but the film never quite reaches a magnificent level. had pk released prior to omg it would have left a whole new aftertaste. overall pk is a family entertainer and must be watched atleast once. And if you still dont Id just say - pk (peekay) ho kya? 3.5/5
