Its situation critical over at pseudo start up airline Jetstar Kai Tak Airways... HKGs South China Morning Post newspaper reports the airline is in desperate talks to lease out or sell the A320s that are parked with nowhere to go. Its the strongest indication yet the airline will never get approval. However according to QANTAS news this is perfectly fine and just a small hiccup - on 20MAR14 it stated It is not unusual for start-up airlines to have to parked planes because of the complexity of timing aircraft deliveries with regulatory approval. The QF news item further elaborates that the liability rests with Jetstar Hong Kong - it fails to mention that QF owns 33% of the airline so at a minimum its footing at least 33% of the millions on leasing costs and parking fees. I love that word unusual they use - to me whats unusual is that some people would be so stupid to focus all their energy and money on airlines that have no hope of ever flying. As for placing that massive order for those A320s without a scrap of any regulatory approval, that not just unusual, its insane!
