Its #tbt! This upcoming Sunday (7/20) and Wednesday (7/23) 7pm to 8pm (meet at Guardian Park), the Bunker of the Week series continues with tours of Battery Mills on the bay side of Sandy Hook. Battery Mills term of service lasted from 1921- 1946. The 12 guns faced the ocean, but the battery is west of Hartshorne Drive. The guns were first placed outside of the battery, but later a concrete encasement covered the carriage. Remember, with Sandy Hook, no shot had ever been fired in anger or in war. Its twin battery is just a few hundred yards north - Battery Kingman. How do you remember which one is which? Kingman ends with an N for North and Mills ends with an S for South!
