Its that time of year! Time for my next lessons in training as a bee keeper. The bees have been busy making honey and its time for extraction. This is my first attempt at de-capping honeycomb. That is one HOT blade I have in my hand and it melts/cuts the wax cap off the comb so it can be placed into the extractor and spun out before it can be strained and bottled. Thats my dad and teacher there getting ready to load a frame into the extractor. No peaches this week but it looks like we might have some Pears ready for you! We plan to have the Starkings and Bosc and maybe a sampling of the tiny little dessert pears too!
