Currently in co-ordination with the Committee all the students and women organizations, all the leftist political parties-even Jafarullah Chowdhury, Khusi Kabir also expressed solidarity with us. In fact all the patriotic people-all the democratic forces are in favor of us. Now people are united, whole nation have hatred for government and BGMEA. Till 9 days we are in hunger strike but they did not pay workers salaries. We are in health risk because most of the time my pressure is very high-170/120. 205 workers became sick-most of them are women workers. We provide them saline and vitamin. We made medical team from the 1st day. Our friends those who all studied with us-when I was student, those doctors are also in favor of us. We are trying to collect fund by going people’s door to door to help the workers who all are in hunger strike. This is the first time garments workers are so much united. Few minutes before ten garments workers came to us and expressed their solidarity. They are from Badda and Gulshan area. Thomas : Presently where are you? At the factory building? Mishu : Yes, In the 7th floor of the 12 storied building of TOBA Group we are in hunger strike. It is in Uttar Badda area-Hossain Market. Thomas : Are you negotiating with BGMEA or you do not? Mishu : Before starting hunger strike we informed TOBA Group and BGMEA authority. We gave ultimatum that if you do not give pay and Bonus by 7 PM then we will go for hunger strike. We talked with labor Ministry, BGMEA and TOBA Group but they did not care. So before Eid day we were bound to go for hunger strike. On the Eid day they spend millions of money for their enjoyment but the workers remain hungry. These workers made World Cup Jersy-for Germany, Brazil, and Argentina etc. I am very glad and it will inspire me that you called me.
