Its things like this that I treasure….. Back in the “Mind Altering” ’60s the Blues Magoos took the New York pop scene by storm, rocking the popular Night Owl Cafe and scoring a top ten hit with “(We Ain’t Got) Nothin’ Yet,” a garage band anthem that helped pave the musical way for the city’s punk scene of the 1970s. Even today, the Magoos are considered early pioneers and a cornerstone of the Garage band / Psychedelic Genre. The group charted several hits and their high energy aura and music would later prove an inspiration to the groundbreaking New York punk rock group the Ramones. “We looked up to groups like that,” says Tommy Erdelyi, better known as Tommy Ramone, a founding member of the Ramones. “They influenced our fashion sense at the time.” Mickey Leigh, brother of the late Joey Ramone adds: “We had the 45 of ‘We Ain’t Got Nothin’ Yet’ in our treasure box filled with singles.” …………So Sad to Loose the last Ramone! My heart breaks on this one.
