Its time to start thinking about adjusting prices to absorb the California wage changes- minimum wage is going to $10.00 an hour by 2016. It moves to $9.00 per hour by July 2014 and $10.00 per hour by January 2016. Planning ahead is a good idea. Managing the wage increase is a balance between raising pricing AND accruing some savings to cash flow the increase. Many of our clients are already paying above minimum wage but this hits restaurants particularly hard as servers, bussers and bartenders all make minimum wage plus tips.
