Its true, there are a maximum of three professional electricians in my village. Few other people can service a car. So the many people who have cars take them to Nakuru for service. There are more than two cycle repair experts who learnt it by observation. Not actual training. There is only one known surveyor who is professional. But we have so many young men most of whom are over qualified to ride motorbikes. Other too handsome and bright to sit on verandas and discuss the referendum. Some of us have specialised in predicting the next mp. The next MCA. The next president. There are people here who have mustered kenyan politics from the senior Kenyatta era. They talk of Tom Mboya like they were with them a few minutes ago. They have the content. We read all newspaper. We can take a whooping two hours to narrate the war in Gaza. We know so many things. But friends, once in a while we must be candid enough to say whether we are doing well or not. It pains and bothers me to see the many bright and boisterous young men in this village waste away yet they have all the opportunity to rewrite the stories of their lives. Lets go to Emining Technical institute. Lets learn everything. Every available skill. The world is evolving into a skill driven world. Pick up a skill now. This is NOT marketing. Its a concern. Its my cooperate social responsibility. Its how I want to be seen as a leader even without a post. It is the fundamental believe being a brothers and sisters keeper. Good night.
