Its very sad to hear the criticism that the nurse who contracted ebola is getting. If the nurse was taking care of a family member of yours, I would hope you would feel grateful that someone had such heart to care for them. This virus is deadly and that is known, but yet there are still nurses who will willingly care for those that have contracted it. Be kind to those who care for people instead of criticizing them. Nurses are risking their lives with the care of those with ebola. There is so little truly known about this virus that it isnt a breach in protocol that is putting these nurses at risk. There IS no protocol because the right equipment is not being supplied to these nurses who care for these patients. The CDC dawns hazmat suits when investigating these patients, yet all they supply nurses with are thin contact gowns, regular gloves, and a fluid resistant mask. You cant adequately supply the correct equipment needed when the mode of transmission isnt even correctly determined. Nurses are getting cheated with their safety equipment used in the treatment of ebola. So instead of blaming nurses for giving Ebola to themselves, how about you thank them for putting his/her life on the line to care for what possibly could be your family member.
