Its way back in 1972, i was a young man in form one but slightly older than most of my classmates. I came to to nairobi for the first year and stayed with a cousin for the april holidays. Living in grogan road, presently known as kirinyaga road,i can remember there was a little luxury everyday. I would walk to uhurupark for a cool breeze. My cousing would take to cameo cinema,odeon cinema or casino cinema to watch karate or kung fu movies. Ocasionally i would go to acadia night club, later known as florida night club for afternoon boogies where we would be entertained by ishmael jingo or slim ali at halliance club. I would ocasionally walk to kariobango north on foot to go and visit my uncle jeckonia were ongoro aka jakom. I remember i would almost all the time walk to any estate to visit my nairobi relatives.
