Its weird receiving a call at 4:45 in the morning, hearing awful news, then going back to sleep. I woke up hours later thinking it was a dream. But my Grandma, Erika, has passed. She was in her homeland of Germany trying to come up with a way back here. From telling me the words on the menu in a German bake shop were describing what the pastries are rather than telling me what they said, to jumping into any conversation with a slight hmm?, she was a fascinating person and will be missed.
