Its what you do right now that makes a difference. - Jeff Struecker, U.S. Army Maj. and Chaplain, Oct. 3rd, 1993, Speaking to his men, Battle of Mogadishu This video is in honor of the brave men of Bravo Company, 3rd Battalion, 75th Ranger Regiment; C Squadron, 1st Special Forces Operational Detachment-Delta (1st SFOD-D), better known as Delta Force; Air Force Combat Controllers and Air Force Pararescuemen, as well as 1st Battalion, 160th Special Operations Aviation Regiment who were willing to, if necessary, lay down their lives for their brothers in arms on October 3rd, 1993 during the Battle of Mogadishu in Somalia, Africa. The battle resulted in 18 deaths, 80 wounded, and one captured Blackhawk Helicopter pilot, Chief Warrant Officer 4, Michael Durant, who was later rescued. U.S. Army Maj. and chaplain Jeff Struecker captivated Liberty University students on October 29, 2010 with a riveting tale of fearlessness, bravery and discipleship, challenging them to not be ordinary and transform the world wherever they go. In 1993 Struecker led a humanitarian aid mission in Mogadishu, the lawless capital of Somalia, which soon turned into a gruesome firefight that claimed the lives of several men in his unit. The battle is best known from the book Black Hawk Down, which was published in 1999, and made into a movie in 2001.
