Its when the chips are down and youre down to the wire, when almost every single odd is against you, that your actions truly define who you are and what you stand for. Last night was just such an occasion. The cast and crew of Bare Knuckles Productions Who is Tyler Durden? has earned my utmost respect. A small mishap during fight call landed one actor with a large gash in his elbow and another needing emergency dentistry. It was something that couldve happened to anyone. However, with fifteen minutes until curtain, you dont have a lot of time to make some difficult choices. So, our sound guy ran the one actor to the emergency dentist. Our director stepped in the take that actors place. The bit parts were split up among the cast, and I was told about nine minutes to curtain that Id be playing the lead that night. We came together as a cast, helped each other out, persevered, and maybe it was just the adrenaline of the situation, but I think it was one of the best performances Ive ever been a part of. Trust your friends. Help each other out. Theatre or not, sometimes, our comrades are all we have. Cherish that. To all my cast mates, thank you for all your hard work and dedication to your art. Youre an inspiration to me.
