Its wierd to say this but i actually knew Robin Williams on a personal basis. Not the kind of basis that we talked regularly, but i did have a one on one lunch with him. I worked at Universal Studios Orlando at the time, in the City Walk section. I was carrying a huge box of stuff to a store and couldnt see over the top of the box, and accidentally ran smack into someone. I said Im sorry, my fault and started ask if the person was alright as i set down the box. I look up and see the slightly startled but still smiling face of Robin Williams. I immediatly started apologizing alot more, and his reply was, do you know any good places here to get some lunch? I pointed him out to the open side bistro around the corner, and he said terrible with directions, could you show me the way? Universal Studion policy was that if a guest asked for help, you had to stop what you were doing and help them. So i handed my box off to a passing employee with directions for it, and walked Robin to the bistro. Once we got there he asked since you were such a good help, mind if i buy you lunch? We sat for a good half hour or so eating. He had a pastrami with extra mustard, i had a reuben sandwich. He was just as funny a comedic in person as he was on the screen, and ill never forget those 30 minutes for the rest of my life. Rest In Peace friend, you deserve it.
