Its winter time in Zim and people have been subjected to frustrating long hours of unexplained power outages every day. Zesa informed the nation in the past that during the winter season power usage peaked due to more electricity being used for domestic heating. With the majority of impoverished domestic users now on pre-paid cash power unit, how many of them can actually afford to use electrically powered heating when they are living on a shoe string budget? How does Zesa justify the theory of increased power usage in light of this? After the introduction of pre-paid cash power units, in a normal situation, no electricity should be cut off for those that have paid for it. It makes no sense that you pay for something in advance and its disabled haphazardly, anytime and anyhow with no apology or compensation for the inconvenience caused. How do you justify load shedding when everyone is now paying in advance for the power and why dont you use that money to purchase the power the country needs? Please Zesa dont take advantage of the situation so that you can export power to other countries at the nations expense. I think Zesa is the only parastatal in Zimbabwe which is making money and God knows where its going. But people are not fools, they are intelligent logical beings!!
