Its with a heavy heart that I share the following from Julie Rigby, I know Im giving extra hugs in my house tonight: I need to put something out there because a few of my friends already know. We had to put our beloved Hemi to sleep today. It was cancer and it was shocking and fast and he went from going on a nice walk with me and Favor yesterday to not being able to walk today. The prognosis was grave, there was nothing to be done, and we were so grateful to be able to let him go before he was in even greater pain. Hemi loved to be with me, more than anything else, and so I am glad that he will never feel left behind ever again, he will always be with me. Here is a video that we made in September for his seventh birthday. All of you who knew Hemi know how talented he was, how consistent and willing and a bit goofy. He loved playing with me but I stopped trialing him because he didnt enjoy the scene. He liked to go on hikes, to chase the other dogs, to sleep between us on the bed. Im so glad that we only did the things that he liked to do.
