Its with heavy hearts that we let everyone know we have lost our Baby-Bub. We have faith in the resurrection Jesus said: “All things are possible with God.” (Mark 10:27) This is a letter I wrote to my Baby-Dub the night before things went horribly wrong. My Dearest Baby-Dub, I have spent many years dreaming of you. Envisioning what you would look like. Would you be a baby boy or a baby girl? Would you look like your mother or would you take after your father? Would you have dark hair or light? Would you share the funny ways of your daddy or posses the intellectual traits of your mother. If you turn out to be a boy would you be boy enough, athletic enough and yet be intelligent in ways that are not even possible for me to comprehend. Would you be musically inclined? If so, could you or would you still want to play catch with youre dear old dad ? If you are to be my baby girl how would you feel about competing against boys? Doing it while they look down on you as if being a girl somehow makes you weak. You will always be reminded as to who you are. You will be a Dub in every sense of the word. You will hold your head high wearing the pride of a lion on your face and have the strength of elephant in your determination. Knowing that there is no such thing as quitting or no such thing as nothing you cant do. I worry that I cant or wont always be able to be the Daddy, the Mentor, the Spiritual head it will require to raise you to be the best human you can possibly be. Will your mother and I be able to raise you up in the ways of Jah as he instructed us to? Most importantly will the job we do in raising you bring Glory and Honor to Jehovahs name? I make a promise to you today that I will always do my best to take care of you physically, mentally, emotionally and Spiritually. I will do my very best to protect you from anything that would hurt you in this world any way possible. My request of you is to please learn from my hurt so that you dont have feel the pain I have felt. Please talk with your mommy and I about anything and everything. You are a gift given from Jah to us. With this honor comes great responsibility. Responsibility, something that in the past has not always been my strong suit. Maybe this could be something you can help me to accomplish? I am positive that you will teach me as much or more than I will teach you! Regardless of what you look like, short, tall, skinny, fat, blonde haired, dark haired, blue eyes or brown. No matter if your goofy or serious, silly or stern you will always be perfect to your Mommy and Me! Even though we have never seen each other I know you and you know me. We are a piece of each other. Soon,we will meet, look each other in the eye and create a bond to never be broken. Until that time Baby Dub your Mommy and Daddy will anxiously be waiting to meet you! Love Mommy and Daddy Dub!
