It’s Because Of Who You Are… Friday, November 14th . Pastor Chris Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world (1 John 4:4). When the Bible says, “Ye are of God,” it doesnt mean youre on Gods side; neither does it mean you’re a God-supporter. It means that you hail from God; your origin is in Him; and because of this, it says you “…have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world” (1 John 4:4). This isnt a promise, but a statement of fact. You shouldnt be afraid of anything in this world; youve already overcome the world, Satan, and his demons. Notice He didn’t say you qualify by praying or working hard enough. What God is talking about here is who you are. You’re not an ordinary being; youre like Jesus. 1 John 4:17 says, “…as he is, so are we in this world.” Jesus was fearless. He had no sense of lack. He lived in absolute mastery and dominion over all things. The same life in him is what He’s given you. The same Holy Spirit that worked in Him when He walked the earth is the same that youve received. Therefore, be conscious of who you are in Christ. 1 John 5:4 says, “For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world…”; that means it makes no difference the challenges or difficulties that you face in this world; you’re a victor, because youre born of God. They may say to you, “O, you’re not going to come out of this one; everyone who ever faced this situation failed.” That’s because they don’t know who you are; the reason you’ve overcome all things is that youre born of God, and greater is He that’s in you than he thats in the world. The devil doesn’t respect you because you’re very “holy” or because you pray a lot. But he recognizes who you are; and when you exercise your dominion and authority on the basis of who you are in Christ, he bows. Never forget what the Word of God has made you! CONFESSION I’m born of God; greater is He thats in me than He that’s in the world! Divinity is at work in me; as Jesus is, so am I in this world. Im not ordinary. I have the life of God in every fibre of my being. I’m what God says I am! I can do all things by His strength and ability that’s at work in me mightily.
