It’s Good to be Fearless, Not to be a Fighter This idea - TopicsExpress

It’s Good to be Fearless, Not to be a Fighter This idea appears very true on having a look at the life of Almighty Lord Krishna. He was/is the greatest warrior ever, but he used his strength for good, for Dharma, and never against the innocent. The Battle with Jarasandha: After this battle Krishana acquired the name ‘Ranchor’ (One who runs away from the battle field). He ran away in order to save his devotee Brahmins who were captured by the wicked king Jarasanda and were forced to perform Yagna for his victory. The King also ordered his ministers to kill them all if he looses the battle with Krishna. Krishna would have easily destroyed the evil king and kept his pride, but he was more interested in safely of his devotees. The Fight with Rukmi: Rukmani wanted to marry Krishna, but his brother Rukmi opposed the idea. He forcefully planned the marriage of his sister and then Krishna came to the rescue. Krishna battered Kukmi’s army and him. Rukmi still, had no control on his words. This added to the anger of Krishan and he ordered his Sudarshan Chakra to behead him, but upon request of Rukmani he called it back. The only destruction he did to Rukmi was to shave his head with Sudarshan Chakra to teach him a lesson. Mahabharata Itself: The battle of Mahabharata was a big event and is discussed a lot. For sure, it was a war and it only ended after a lot of bloodshed. It was violent and people died in it. All he did was counselling and advising, but never took a weapon in his hands throughout the battle. In his previous incarnations Lord Vishnu himself destroyed the evil forces. This time was an exception because he desired the free-willed man to take his own responsibility. In fact, I consider him as the topmost manager who maintains the whole universe in order. * He also mediated between Kauravas and Pandavas to avoid the war, but the stubborn Kauravas denied. … There are countless examples to quote. All I desire to say is that the Lord wants us to be fearless and non-violent. Fearlessness is a very important attribute. We must not fear the evil and must retaliate it. Still, we must know the limits. I personally believe that non-violence is perhaps the most confusing term. It must end instantly at instances where the basic rights of a human are violated and there is no means for justice.
