It’s a lot more fun to share good news than bad. This month, actually for the last several months, I have good news again. Our grocery card sales are 14% over our budget projections as of April 30th. This always seemed like the least controversial and easiest way to raise money for our congregation. After all, everyone buys food. We receive a 10% profit on Giant Cards and 5% on the other Cards. I cannot explain the reason for the increase in sales. During the past several years sales remained flat. Why can’t we do more? Looking ahead: If 100 members would buy $200 in grocery cards each month, we would triple our sales and increase our general fund revenue from $6,400 to more than $17,000. This seems too easy. Can anyone explain what I am missing in this example? Richard Bronakoski
