It’s a matter of trust Ticking coming from inside the box You say it’s a clock- I believe you. If it’s a bomb, I learn you were not to be trusted, the hard way. ~ Wrapping up my sadness Anger, fear, resignation, helplessness In a parcel and leaving it In my thoughts, to be collected And sent to God. A million unopened boxes Awaiting His touch of hope And the reply never arrives By return of post. ~ Unrequited love An unwanted gift, thrust upon you Whatever you do, someone gets hurt Someone gets annoyed The general feeling- negativity The rest collecting dust on the lid Of a firmly shut box. ~ Boxes of evil Containers shut too tight So that no one can be temptes But there’s always someone As there’s always evil And it is a matter of time. ~ Time in a box…Sent with first class mail Can it help? Or would it be the absence of time That turns the world into a big, stifling box? ~ If your box really contains a clock It will tick away, but won’t create extra time. Trust or no trust. And I don’t know which is worse: Sudden betrayal or infinite illusion…
