It’s getting mighty crowded at the top of the AHL, but it’s still the Utica Comets who sit on top. Utica’s 24 points in 15 games puts the boys in first overall in the league. Rockford is just behind the Comets with 23 points, but Utica has a game in hand. Chicago and Manchester are not far behind with 22 points, the Wolves getting there in 16 games and the Monarchs in 15. Bridgeport has 21 points in 15 games. San Antonio and Milwaukee has amassed 20 points each, but Milwaukee has done this in just 13 games and giving them the second best winning percentage in the league…behind the Comets. The Comets host Hamilton tonight. The Bulldogs are the farm club of Montreal. Hamilton trails the Comets by 10 points. They score well, but give up more than they put in. This game could be a horserace. One note of interest regarding Bo Horvat, who played with the Comets earlier this season, he’s developing into a face off artist and could win a regular role in Vancouver. On line speculation wonders if Horvat continues to impress, what might the status be of Rome native Tom Sestito when big Tom comes off the disabled list.
