It’s incidents like #Ferguson that reminds me that I am right where I need to be—at my HBCU (emphasis here) studying under Black criminologists (emphasis here too) that are training me for academia so I can be the revolutionary scholar I seek to become. So much for post-racialism. Once again another Black male killed with impunity. This motivates me more to be on my #PhDgrind even harder. I look to have 3 scholarly articles and a book review published in refereed journals during my first year of doctoral studies. No time to waste, my people need me in the streets #Activist scholar
