It’s more than just STRENGTH TRAINING and CONDITIONING, It - TopicsExpress

It’s more than just STRENGTH TRAINING and CONDITIONING, It builds confidence. Riley and I were power walking for at least a half hour every morning, eating healthy food, and practicing obedience training about four nights a week. I thought that would be enough to keep both of us in shape. But, I was wrong. Riley who’s not a small dog had become slightly over weight, out of shape, and injured his left hip. I’m still not sure how, but one day when I came home from work and he was limping. So off to the Vet we go. There was no real answer other than he had strained it and was prescribed Glyco-Flex III to take down the inflammation. I didn’t think this was enough. So I signed us up for Strength Training and Conditioning. I wasn’t really sure what it was all about, but from the title I knew this was what Riley needed, and this time I was right. We just finished week six and what a change. When we started Riley had a weak hip and would always sit sidesaddle, he couldn’t get up on the big blue peanut, had no idea how to get up on a high platform and would tire easily. Now he runs the hurdles like a champ, can jump up on a low and a high platform, sits straight, most of the time. He not only gets up on the peanut, he can sit on top of it, and you can tell he is very proud of himself. As a result of the Strength Training and Conditioning Riley’s hips are getting stronger along with his entire body including cardio. As a bonus I’ve noticed, as he gets stronger his confidence has grown as well. Who doesn’t want a strong confident dog. Now we power walk for at least a half hour every morning, are eating healthy food, practicing obedience and Strength Training and Conditioning. This time I know we have the right formula. - Paul Kitwood Next class starts July 11th, 2013 at 6pm. Sign up early to save your spot!
