It’s really been a year for Kenya (and we still have over 3mnths left to go). Both president and vice president are facing trials at the ICC, part of Nairobi International Airport was destroyed by fire (not sure if it was terrorism). There seem to be some relief and hope with the AU backing to withdraw from the ICC and the discovery of water and oil in the remote region of Turkana. If u know the Turkana region u will agree this was one of the best things to happen to Kenya. The celebrations have barely started and the country is plunged back into darkness. AL-SHABAB decides to impact terror on innocent ppl. And what was Kenyans’ offence? Ans: sending troops to Somalia..For now it seems to be an east African problem but with time it going to engulf the whole of Africa. When the AU meet in Addis Ababa in October on their special session to decide it membership at the ICC, they should find time for discuss al-shabab and other militants on the continent. If this madness gets to West Africa we are doomed. Unlike Liberia, we cannot count on the Nigerian led ECOMOG to help. They already have their hands full with BOKO HARAM.
