It’s taken a little while but finally, the various listing clubs hosted at zestforbirds.co.za have all finally been updated with the latest totals received. There have obviously been a lot of people out birding over the Festive Season as there were a lot of big movers and a number of new members to the various listing clubs. Some of the totals are probably out of date already since I know that a number of people are sitting in Windhoek this weekend adding another bird to their lists...:) So, pop on through to the website and have a look around. When viewing the various listing clubs, please ensure that today’s date is at the top of the page or else you won’t be viewing the latest version of it. If it has an older date (except for the Free State club for which no updates were received), please refresh the page to make sure you are looking at the latest version. I expect that I will be receiving a lot more updates this coming week when people get back from Windhoek, so please check your totals and, if they need updating, please let me know. Please also ensure that you are basing your count on the latest Southern African checklist (version 4) which is also available to download off the website. And please try and encourage all of your birding friends who may qualify for the listing clubs to send their totals through. Not only are their lists for Southern Africa, but also for all the provinces, for the Kruger Park and for photos and, if your spouse or partner birds with you, then see if you qualify for the “couples list” too. Looking forward to adding lots more updates and lots more new members as well in the next couple of weeks.
