It’s that time of year again -- Get ready to get muddy! Registration is now open for the 2nd Annual Ventura Eco Xtreme Mud Challenge, presented by the Ventura Police Officers Association, which will take place on Sunday, April 27th. As was the case last year, the 5K event (and Kids 1K) take place in the hills above downtown Ventura where our officers and SWAT Team trains. We listened to our participants’ feedback from last year and have made some significant changes to this year’s event. Just a few of the highlights include: an earlier deadline for race registration which closes on April 19, packet pickup will be on April 26 (the day before the event) and not on the day of, course layout this year will consist of a single 5k loop vs. multiple “laps” so as to reduce congestion at obstacles and allow for participants to start in “waves”, we’re adding few new obstacles to make the event even more challenging (and of course more rewarding), 2 water stops will be available to get the mud out of your mouth/eyes/ears, etc., and we’ve also moved the starting line farther up the hill.
