It’s these kinds of stories that make me wonder what planet I’m on. I decline to say what I really think, but this story from the Atlanta Journal Constitution speaks for itself. OK, summary: Some store in Atlanta got a supply of Nike LeBron X EXT Sneakers. Just released today! They are $180. People started lining up outside the store that was going to sell them the night before the place was going to open. You know, camping out. One woman, planning to buy these $180 sneakers for her son, said “Everyone wants them because they’re exclusives,” adding that she planned to buy a pair for her 5-year old son, D.J.” About 5:30 am, someone tried to rob people in line. One of the people in line pulled a gun, and shot and killed the would-be robber. Then, the shooter got back in line. Everybody else stayed there, waiting for those shoes. Yes, you read it right. “He was probably just minding his business,” Dan Garcia said of the shooter. “He was probably after that shoe money,” Leslie Garcia said of the man who was shot. The store opened. It quickly sold out the 22 shoes on hand. The crowd groaned.
