Iv seen this story being discussed within a few heart groups. Heart surgery is a very daunting process for all involved. It is such a whirlwind of emotions and decisions that u dont really get the chance to let sink in or think about....afterwards the effects and stress can take its toll. I myself battled with many mixed emotions after Robbies surgeries as did many other heart mums and dads I know. Its not as simple as thats him fixed so get on with it. Once the dust settles u have a moment to think we nearly lost him, u think of all the what ifs, and out of nowhere u find urself lost in a world of emotions u didnt even know u had. To go through all that aswell as battling depression which in itself is a dark and lonely road must have been one hell of a journey. From this we must learn to share our emotions, to let others know we need help and to accept help when it is given. Be there for each other and help out through tough times.
