Ive always had these crazy high expectations for Vietnam and thus was REALLY excited leaving beautiful Cambodias history, ruins, and beaches behind. Started off in Ho Chi Minh City (crazy hectic place with 5 million motorbikes - absolutely loved it!!) crashing at a friends place I met traveling in Bolivia last year (again big thanks Chris!). Eating with the hungry Norwegians (I er savnet!), drinking cocktails on top of Saigon, and riding on the back of Chris scooter in the middle of rush hour were among the highlights. Another Vietnamese highlight was Hoi An - without a doubt the prettiest city outside Europe Ive ever seen! Thanks to a cool mixture of the most sociable dorm, the sweetest Vietnamese family welcoming me and Perrine into their home, and amazing food at Café 43 every single day (several times), this was the perfect place to get stuck. Hanoi on the other hand is just a bit too busy but the street food is ridiculously good and the free hour of beer at the hostel makes it a pretty decent spot. Last week I went trekking through rice paddies and small villages in Sapa, and just finished off on a two day party cruise in extremely stunning Halong Bay - wauw.. just wauw! So in short Vietnam definitely didnt disappoint :) Anyways, did I mention Im catching a flight to Philippines tmrw? Bounty beaches, diving, and islands hopping shouldn’t be too bad :D :D
