Ive always lumped Buddhism in with all other religions but this - TopicsExpress

Ive always lumped Buddhism in with all other religions but this book has taught me that I was extremely ignorant in my perceptions: 1. Most Buddhist sects are secular in nature and do not believe in a god (atheist!) but rather in the universal law of cause and effect. 2. There is somehow an eerie correlation between 2,500 year old Buddhist teachings about the universe and our most modern, advanced findings in the field of quantum physics/mechanics. 3. The Buddha said to study his teachings and throw out any of them that you dont agree with or arent personally relevant to you (unlike most religions which teach you to not question what youre taught or else). Plus Buddhists readily change their teachings if science (or any new info) solidly disproves them (unlike most religions that NEVER admit when theyre wrong even in the light of overwhelming evidence). Im still an atheist, but Buddhism is the only religious school of thought I can respect. This book is amazing...one of the most informative Ive ever read. :)
