Ive asked many of my intelligent friends (no offence if I havent asked you, I only keep intelligent friends) if they have heard of Nikola Tesla. The resounding answer is No. Yet everyone has heard of Thomas Edison and Westinghouse electric and even a great number have an idea of who J.P. Morgan was. This man made our way of life accessible, but did not want profit from it, therefor has been written out of the history books by the people who have benefitted from his genius. I would encourage everyone to learn of him, and the greaters among us to pick up his work.
