Ive been a fan of Talk Talk for several years now. Discovered - TopicsExpress

Ive been a fan of Talk Talk for several years now. Discovered their music right around the same time I discovered The Catherine Wheels Ferment album, which I consider one of my Top 10 Most Perfect Albums Ever Recorded (and some of the albums on that list include Radioheads OK Computer and Rides Nowhere). This is one of the handful of hit singles Talk Talk released in the 80s, but incredibly, if you look into the major influences on bands such as Radiohead, Elbow, Portishead, Catherine Wheel, Weezer and other modern alt-pop masters, its astounding just how far-reaching this band has been and continues to be on modern alt-pop and ambient musicians from around the world. I love this song. Its gets stuck in your head and checks in for a week or so. But Ive discovered in the last couple of years that their few hit singles that mainstream listeners got to hear was barely scratching the surface on the incredibly diverse and memorable collection of songs on their four studio albums. In 2012, a double disc boxset collection was released that really exposed the depths of the bands talent and influence on modern music. Who wouldve thought the band that gave us a song that had the same title as the band name would be able to create such gems of pop music diversity--from ambient to jazz to alt-pop and even a shoegazer tease.
