Ive been considering the harlot of Revelation 17 and 18. Im not - TopicsExpress

Ive been considering the harlot of Revelation 17 and 18. Im not going to give a full explanation of her. I just want to pick on the wine of her fornication. We know that the primary aspect of this is idolatry, however I wanna focus on the financial relationship she has with the kings of the earth. Its clear that she possesses a resource that finances her murder of Gods saints. Babylon will be restored and become, again, the center of all idolatry. This is what is conveyed by the figure of speech Mother of Harlots. She holds the cup of the wine of her fornication. Scripture is saying this is the fountain head of idolatry. No other city can fulfill that role, except Babylon proper. Yeah, even Rome is only a stream that flows from the cup that the Mother of Harlots holds. John sees this city in a wilderness(a desert). This is Babylon proper. I would go further to emphasize this point, but I trust most of you know that Babylon here means Babylon and not somewhere else. If not, thats another topic for another thread. What is this resource that makes the kings and the inhabitants drunk? I suspect its oil. I think this is what Isaiah 34:9 is describing. It wouldnt be the first time the middle easts wells of oil have burned. Something to consider. https://youtube/watch?v=TsuKlCvj2wQ
