Ive been fairly candid about my lack of belief in the supernatural. I just dont see the point in believing in things for which no evidence exists. Its no big deal, really. I also dont believe in elves and leprechauns and Santa Claus. But, heres what I DO believe in: I believe you have the right to believe whatever you want. And as long as youre not trying to teach it to my kids or push your beliefs into government.....I think you have every right to believe what you want. A friend just told me that hed heard a student in Florida wasnt being allowed to read his/her Bible during a break-time at school. I dont think thats cool. Its an issue thats been ruled on over and over and over many times over the years: if a child wants to carry his/her chosen holy-book to school or pray before taking a test or pray before a meal, etc.....they should be allowed to do that. No one has the right to say they dont. So, if that story about the student in Florida is true....that should be corrected ASAP. Our ability to believe whatever we want -- or nothing at all -- is a basic human right...and its also a right afforded to us by the Constitution.
