Ive been folding laundry all day, which means Ive done a lot of thinking. And today I was thinking about the term pastors wife. What I thought was very interesting is that many of the women who are called pastors wives, are actually functioning in the office of a pastor as well as their husband. Some arent. Some have different callings, but they support their husbands calling, as does their husband support theirs... But so many pastors wives are just as much pastors as their husband, and they fulfill a vital role as spiritual mother within the Body of Christ. I mean we dont call people the plumbers wife or the teachers husband so I just got to thinking how this came to be. Maybe to bestow some form of honor on her, but not want to mistakenly define her as a pastor... Just some ponderings in my head today. Also, Im not trying to debate whether or not women can be leaders or speak in church. Pretty sure everyone knows where I stand on that, and I will link a video up in the comments if you need scriptural proof that God is for women in ministry or explanation of certain scriptures that have been misunderstood and taken out of context.
