Ive been in love with music ever since I touched those turntables - TopicsExpress

Ive been in love with music ever since I touched those turntables and realistic mixer back in grade school and found this article to be very interesting… Theres always a bubble waiting to burst in any over-bloated industry and it happened in the music industry when the consumer no longer had to buy that $10-$15 cd for one or two songs they liked. More importantly, the record labels didnt adapt to the new format and got greedy. If downloads were more affordable, I believe people would of paid for it including myself. Heck, when iTunes started selling songs for $1, I started going to town when I new it was safe and easy to download. What does the future look like??? Music videos will be back and its evident that youtube and vimeo is leading the way. Labels/artists are getting paid per views on youtube through the advertising revenue. Roughly $5k per million hits. Touring has been a big revenue generator for artists since festivals are the in thing with consumers where they can see their favorite artist(s) perform a song(s) with thousands of people singing with you at an overpriced charge… I went to Coachella this year and regular GA tickets ($375) were going for $1500 to even $3000!!! Yup, I witnessed this madness. Its like you were holding crack and everyone wanted some. You see a correction coming here?!?!? ;) Dont get me wrong, the quality festivals will outlast this mayhem just like the tech giants lasted the tech crash in the 2000s. All i know is that if you love what you do, youll find a way to make it work... Ricky Illacad - Managing Director of MCA/Universal Philippines is one of those people and have much respect for this guy! For all you music lovers, keep on doing your thing and for those that know what a realistic mixer is, God bless you! Does anyone actually still own one or know where I can find one??? Tread lightly Millennials! :) Jerry Grateful Garcia
