Ive been nominated by Vicki Sennett to list 10 books that have stayed with me in life. I too am not a high brow reader and some of my titles will probably be the same as yours Vicki! Ive steered clear of history books apart from one that had to go in But...here goes... 1.) Enid Blyton Far Away Tree series and Famous Five as they remind me of childhood and the pleasure of reading for myself as a younger child. 2.) The BFG by Roald Dahl...still a favourite and Ive read it to my kids 3.) Forever by Judy Blume (or is it Bloom?) Every teenage girls staple 4.) Toms Midnight Garden ( cant remember the author but right up my historical alley as a 10 yr old) 5.) Wuthering Heights by Emily Bronte...couldnt put it down 6.) Tess of the DUrbervilles by Thomas Hardy...Im a sucker for a Victorian novel from a historians perspective 7.) The Dubliners by James Joyce has stayed with me because I found it so dull and yet had to study it for A-Level 8.) The Anglo-Saxon Chronicle...a fascinating insight into this country and and the people who lived here in a very different time. 9.) Lightning by Dean Koontz...I think this was also my first horror read thanks to the lovely Jennifer Coleman too! But I also equally enjoyed Christine and Carrie 10.) Dark Matter by Michelle Paver...creepy and atmospheric Can I add a number 11? It would be The Shock of the Fall by Nathan Filer. Obviously 50 Shades has pride of place too ;-) ha ha...I nominate Helen Mortimore Cotmore and Helen Whelan for their lists if they would like
