Ive been pretty wary about coming to a decision in regards to what I believe and where I stand with recent hot button tragedies (ie Ferguson) -- mostly because Ive been seeing a lot of people get extremely angry and emotional over what they believe occured in such cases. And having done a good amount of reading and research into what we the people actually know in terms of evidence sans various opposing eye witness accounts, I dont feel like its right for me to take a firm stance on what happened in Ferguson. That being said, this video is shifting my focus of study away from Ferguson and towards Garner -- given that I believe theres more solid evidence thats available to the public in this particular case. Regardless of how a jury may vote, or how others may act in reaction to what they find out or what they think we know, I encourage everyone to proceed with caution. Despite what our moms used to say to us when we were children , the fact of the matter is that words can always hurt us. Words are powerful. Words have meaning. Words change the course of history. So before you and I release the power that is our words on the world around us, season conviction with wisdom, cast aside bias in pursuit of integrity, and find the strength to stand firm for what you believe to be true while seeking the humility to see through blinding emotions when faced with an absence of facts.
