Ive been reading all of your posts for the past few weeks, and am in the same boat with most of you. My heart breaks on some of the horrible situations a lot of you are going through. My state 6 months UI ran out on Jan. 5th. Ive been screwed since. THANK GOD for my boyfriend helping me out a little, and Im not thrilled about going into my severely dwindling 401k. But I have to do what I have to do. Ive gotten good at crying on the phone with AT&T on not getting my internet & cell phone turned off so I can continue my job search. My landlord is (patiently) accepting a fraction of my rent, and Ive gotten used to living on canned beans. Ive emailed repeatedly to everyone from the President, (a wicked nasty one) to Boehner, my Congressmen (thank God they are Dems.), and anyone else who could help. I cant focus on that any more. I get TOO depressed. So, Im doing what I can to make my own personal progress. Im growing my LinkedIn contacts to hopefully reach 500 soon. Companies really notice you when you reach 500 and former colleagues endorse you or make recommendations. Whats keeping me going now for making misc. income is selling anything and everything on EBay. Right now Im listing a ton of vintage Easter decorations Ive always loved to collect. But I need gas in my car more than old eggs. I hope and pray, like all of you, that we get good news next week, and this UI extension FINALLY gets passed. I NEVER in my wildest dreams thought Id be in this professional and financial situation. Ill prayer for all of us that divine intervention will slap the SOBs upside the head in Washington, and they do the right thing so our nightmares will be over soon. Its the 1st day of Spring, a season of rebirth and new life. I have to stay positive and keep busy, otherwise Ill go to that dark place that no one I know likes me to be in. Thanks for letting me vent. No one really knows what this situation feels like unless you are in it yourself.
