Ive been running on pure nervous energy for the last week. Ive literally screamed into my pillow, bit my nails off and panicked like crazy behind the scenes. People were surprised about how nervous I was about the Singapore: Unsung Heroes event. Sure, Ive run events before, but this was definitely different. If I could take my soul and put it on Facebook it would look exactly like Unsung Heroes. Unsung Heroes is everything I stand for. Its about searching for the good in the world, amplifying it, and hoping that everyone gets it, joins it, and helps to create a lasting movement. The vulnerability is excruciating at times, which is weird because when I look at how cool my business partners are (Eileen, Amelia), I see Im just a crazy fool because theres no need for fear when you believe in what youre doing and have complete faith in its significance in the world. All this to say, Ive been a crazy fool. And it came to surface because the Unsung Heroes event was my first time emceeing. >>>> EMCEEING!!!! My peeps had complete faith in my ability to do the job, so I felt compelled to step up to it, repeating the mantra to myself: I love people, I love talking, I love to fool around, this should be a piece of cake. Fake it until you make it. Confronting fears is one of those pivotal experiences, and its only when we really step out our comfort zone that we really get to experience it. So when the spot light hit, it was like everything occurred to me simultaneously... every hesitation, every conviction: its not about me, my insecurities or fear of judgment or making a mistake, its about interacting with people and getting the message out. Its about stepping up to the energy I want to create so people feel it. Ayio. Im not completely there yet but at least I did it. Behind the scenes I panicked like mad, had to get coaching and address my subconscious nay-saying - but despite it all, Im proud to say I did it because I care. Im willing to stretch, grow, risk everything to attain my vision in life. This is just the beginning, for myself and for Unsung Heroes. And if you havent already signed up to the mailing list, what are you waiting for? Spread love, kindness and gratitude through #projectunsungheroes, check out the inspirational unsung heroes, like our page, share our stuff, because some movements are worth spreading. And to those who attended: THANK YOU! I hope you can feel the love
