Ive been spending Christmas with my mom the better part of this last decade, and since she passed away this spring, Ive decided to start a new Christmas tradition for myself. Traveling someplace unique. I was just in NYC this past August for a week, but that wasnt enough time, so Im going to see what the Big Apple looks like all lit up for the holidays. And, except for selecting restaurants, my itinerary for Christmas week is set. Besides visiting the Rockefeller Center Tree, riding in a horse-drawn carriage in Central Park, ice skating, visiting Macys Santaland, and viewing the window displays on 5th Avenue from Rock Center to FAO Schwartz and over to Barneys, check out this incredible holiday schedule of shows Ive lined up: Arrive in NYC Tues. Dec. 17 Wed. 18 - Waiting for Godot, starring Ian McKellen and Patrick Stewart Thurs. 19 - Paul Winters 34th Annual Winter Solstice Celebration at The Cathedral Church of St. John the Divine Fri. 20 - New York Pops Christmas Carols, featuring Ashlee Brown, Carnegie Hall Sat. 21 - The Life and Death of Marina Abramovic, featuring Robert Wilson, Antony and Willem Dafoe, then, Bar Car Nights Holiday Model Train Show, the Bronx Sun. 22 - The Jacksonian off-Broadway, featuring Ed Harris Mon. 23 - Book of Mormon by Matt Stone and Trey Parker on Broadway Tues.
