Ive been studying Comet Jacques a lot. https://youtube/watch?v=BHPjnJ_eKnw This video show how fast it moves across the sky in 20 minutes. Unfortunately, I havent been able to see much of the tail, its just a little fuzzball. This was taken with a 4 telescope in my backyard. I was up at my clubs observatory last week, using the 22 telescope. I started the evenings observing with lots of high tech hopes of observing an extra solar planet transit. But the night did not start out very happily. I bumped one of the control computers with my knee, and hit the off switch at a very bad time. It took me quite a while to recover from the problem, and by then, a good part of the early evening had passed. I decided that I would just use the scope visually, instead of a camera. It was quite a treat to really look at Neptune, star clusters, and nebula. Then I turned to the comet, and realized that I could see it move. It was hard to describe, because I couldnt actually see specific movement. Just that I could tell which way it was moving. So then it became a game of watching. I probably spent from 11:00PM til 1:30AM watching it move. It was completely predictable, and the comet itself didnt change, but somehow it was kind of like watching a campfire. In any case, its a fun way to spend an evening :)
