Ive been surprised reading comments on various FaceBook groups: people complaining about paying what it is a comparatively small amount for e-books (not my books ... just books in general). I would ask those people how much they paid for their last magazine and how long did it take them to read compared with the reading time of a book? I would also remind those people that books dont write themselves: authors often sacrifice a great deal, spending more hours than you could imagine writing that book ... forming the ideas, finding the right words, ensuring that the story gels without inconsistencies ... and then there is the hard slog of formatting, editing and proof-reading. That e-book isnt a creation that magically appears. It takes hard graft and precious time. Please dont begrudge paying for that authors services anymore than you would any other service provider in your life ... especially when so many e-books are priced cheaper than a news paper or a magazine!
